Since Justin Bieber is back in the music industry, he’s breaking a lot of records. Indeed, the singer started breaking records with his single What Do You Mean. Its lyric video is the fastest lyric video to reach 100 million views (and get the label VEVO certified) within 24 hours. A few days after, What Do You Mean music video also became the fastest music video by a solo male artist to be VEVO certified. The first single of Purpose is the fastest song to reach 100 and 300 million streams on Spotify. Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean earned the hightest first week streams ever in UK. In fact, Justin’s beat the streaming record upon its release. It’s also the fastest single to reach #1 on iTunes; it took only 5 minutes! In consequence, the song also broke iTunes record by being #1 in 52 countries in less than 2 hours! Justin Bieber is the youngest male artist to debut at #1 in Billboard Hot 100. He’s also the only Canadian artist who achieved this. The hit is also the only single in history to debut at #1 in US, UK and Australia.

Additionally to these records, the single was the first record produced and written by Justin that hit #1 on Hot 100. Justin also scored his first #1 in the Australian chart thanks to the first hit of Purpose that has stayed four months at the top in September. 4 months after its release, What Do You Mean still holding high positions in the charts. After doing it with As Long As You Love Me, Justin Bieber scores his second #1 on Billboards Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart with What Do You Mean.

Justin Bieber’s album Purpose also broke some records. First of all, Purpose debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, giving Bieber his sixth chart-topping album. Thanks to the Brazilian Beliebers, Justin Bieber’s latest album si the fastest album to be certified platinum in Brazil. Not only Purpose scored the highest first week streams of all time on Spotify (more than 250 million streams), but it’s also the fastest album to reach 1 billion streams on this streaming plateform. I’m not mistaken, 1 billion! Purpose is also the second most streamed album by a male artist on Spotify in the service’s history. Thanks to his last album, Justin Bieber has earned his fifth million-selling album in the U.S. Additionally, Purpose only took five weeks to reach a million sales – the quickest trip to a million for Bieber this far. To end a great year, Purpose is the best-selling male album released in 2015. Justin Bieber also broke a Billboard Hot 100 record previously held by The Beatles and Drake. The pop-star had 17 songs on the December 5th Hot 100, marking the most titles that any artist has placed on the chart in a single week. Take a look at Purpose tracklist, which contains 18 songs. It means that only one song from the deluxe album wasn’t in the chart! Justin Bieber is also the only living artist to have 8 songs within the Top 40 of UK Official Single chart.

Thanks to What Do You Mean and Sorry, Biebs is the third and youngest male artist to have 2 singles debut within the top 2 of Billboard Hot 100. Justin notched his second #1 on Billboard’s top 40 radio-based Pop Songs airplay chart (dated Jan. 2, 2016), as Sorry rises 2-1. The song follows prior single What Do You Mean, which became his first #1 on the ranking, for two weeks in October. After What Do You Mean, Justin scored his second #1 single with Sorry in the Australian chart. Justin Bieber equaled a UK chart record previously held by only Elvis Presley and The Beatles! Bieber’s Love Yourself is the new #1 in the UK and replaces last week’s chart-topper, Justin’s own Sorry. A third single, What Do You Mean, is also at #4. With his singles What Do You Mean, Sorry and Love Yourself (co-written by Ed Sheeran), not only Biebs is the first solo artist in the history to have 3 songs in the top 5 on the Hot 100 for 4 weeks running, but also these 3 songs in the Top 5 of UK Official Single chart (which hadn’t happenned since 1980’s to a male artist). To add another record to the British chart, Justin Bieber is the first artist to have the #1 and #2 single concurrently for 4 consecutive weeks. Sorry is the fastest dance video by a male artist to be VEVO certified. Billboard’s readers also elected Purpose as the best album of 2015. Finally, when you add all videos from PURPOSE: The Movement, Justin achieves 1,5 billion views on VEVO!

MTV EMA 2015

If we talk about VEVO, we have to underline that Justin just became the most viewed artist on VEVO/Youtube and the male artist who has the most VEVO certified videos (indeed, Rihanna has 2 more). In addition, he’s the first person to have 8 billion views on his VEVO videos altogether!

Since a Milanese night of October 2015, Justin Bieber is the most awarded artist in a single night in the MTV EMA’s history, with 6 awards. In consequence he also became the most awarded MTV EMA artist. He’s also the youngest male artist in history to have 6 #1 albums on Billboard 200. He was also the first artist on iTunes/Spotify worldwide for over a month. Justin Bieber is now the youngest artist in history yo have his 4 first studio albums certified platinum in the US. Jack Ü and him are also nominated for a Grammy with Where Are Ü Now in the category Best Dance Recordings.

Now, with all these facts & figures about Justin Bieber’s work, if some people still don’t respect him, I don’t know what will change their mind.

PS: Sorry if I forgot some records which Justin has broken in 2015. If you find another record, please comment it.
